David’s background is very much a financial one having spent most of his working life with KPMG, an international accountancy and advisory firm. In addition to providing audit and investigation services, David looked after a wide range of clients and managed various parts of the firm’s business. He was actively involved with Business in the Community, as chairman of their Avon Leadership Team, when he was the Bristol Office Senior Partner.
Since retiring from KPMG, David has become a Non-Executive Director and Audit Committee Chairman of Carpetright plc and Amicus Horizon, a large housing association. He is also a Trustee and the Treasurer of the Gurkha Welfare Trust, which provides welfare and support to former Gurkhas and their communities, principally in Nepal.
David was also the Treasurer of the Thames Diamond Jubilee Foundation, which developed and ran the Thames River Pageant to celebrate HM The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
