1 Million Schools is a new initiative of the Varkey Foundation to enable one million meaningful school-to-school connections over the next five years. 

The aim of 1 Million Schools is to make teacher-led collaboration the default way schools improve, at global scale. The campaign exists to show that teachers already know what works — and that real change happens when schools are supported to act, learn from one another, and adapt ideas in their own contexts.

The movement will help proven, classroom-tested ideas spread without bureaucracy or funding dependency. It will build a global culture of shared practice, where teachers lead change, schools learn from schools, and what works in one place can travel anywhere.
