Comunidad Araucaria
Driving educational transformation in Latin America
Comunidad Araucaria is a community of Ministers and Secretaries of Education in Latin America that seeks to generate and strengthen bonds, bring global educational actors closer and explore local systems. Decision makers of educational public policies can step back, reflect, and return inspired to effectively transform education.
In 2023, we launched Comunidad Araucaria, a community of Ministers and Secretaries of Education that aims to transform education around three key pillars: training, inspiration, and coordination.
TRAINING
We provide concrete opportunities of professional development together with leading global educational figures. We facilitate the exchange of good practices.
INSPIRATION
We engage in immersive collaborative learning experiences. We envision a more united Latin America by taking joint steps in the educational agenda.
COORDINATION
We connect those who lead the educational systems. We foster conversations, debates and gatherings with stakeholders of the different educational areas. We visit schools, multilateral organizations and government entities.
The Community started with 23 founding members from 7 Latin American countries: ministers whose decisions impact teachers, students, and schools. Today, the Community brings together:

The community's journey:
Comunidad Araucaria not only provides its members with specific training in management communications, but also intensively disseminates its activities through public media. In just two years, we have achieved extensive coverage in Latin America, the United States, and Spain.

“Araucaria Community is a space for educational, pedagogical, and human growth. We meet people who believe in our cause, without protocols, and we are more authentic. It is a very necessary space.”
Alegría Crespo, Minister of Education of Ecuador

“Araucaria Community means integration and collaboration between various secretaries and ministers. The exchange with the secretaries, ministers, specialists, and the team is a great learning experience. I take with me good ideas and practices to implement in the education system of the state of Paraná.”
